NIGERIAN LAW SCHOOL EXTENDS APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR 2025/2026 ACADEMIC SESSION

The Council of Legal Education has announced an extension of the application deadline for admission into the Nigerian Law School for the 2025/2026 academic session.

According to an official statement, the new deadline for submission of applications and supporting documents is Friday, 31 January 2026. The extension offers a final opportunity for eligible law graduates who are yet to complete their applications.

The Secretary to the Council of Legal Education and Director of Administration emphasized that the extension should be regarded as a grace period, warning that no application will be accepted after the new deadline. Prospective students have been advised to ensure that all pending requirements are completed on or before the stipulated date, as further extensions are unlikely.

The Council noted that the application process often involves coordination between applicants, their universities, and the Council itself. The additional time is therefore expected to help candidates verify their academic documents, correct errors in submitted forms, and complete outstanding payments.

Applicants have also been urged to regularly check their status on the Nigerian Law School application portal and to confirm that their universities have forwarded their details to the Council. Where physical submission of documents is required, candidates are advised to use reliable courier services and keep proof of all submissions and payments.

The Council further advised applicants not to wait until the last day to complete their applications, citing the risk of technical issues or delivery delays. Candidates are encouraged to finalize all requirements well ahead of the deadline.

The Nigerian Law School remains the mandatory professional training institution for law graduates seeking to be called to the Nigerian Bar.
